Rick Allred is both a musician and a magician, and he does lots of corporate gigs, parties, weddings and other private functions where he can get up close and personal with the audience. He makes regular appearances at Grill 584 in Burlington. He's an amazing guitarist who spent some time touring the US with Ray Griff in the 70's. And in his early 20's, turned down a chance to play in Barbara Mandrell's band. "I was sick of the road by then," he says. "Now, I like doing my own show."
At Grill 584, Allred sings and plays "fingerstyle" guitar. He sits on a stool, dressed in black, within an arm's reach of his new CD, "Personal Favorites." His music is an eclectic mixture of both vocal and instrumental. A set might include a Neil Young vocal, or "Blue Angel", a fiery instrumental a la Chet Atkins, or Rick's own instrumental arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". After a set, Rick comes to a table and starts doing up close magic with his nimble fingers and a coin or a deck of cards.
Rick has recorded three CD's: "Musical Moods", "Fingerstyle Classics" and "Personal Favorites". He has performed on several TV shows and entertained many groups and organizations all over the United States. He is a regular performer at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society in Nashville each year in July. Don't miss Rick's show. You will surely be entertained and amazed.

50YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Some Guitar Playing Memories
Rick is one of my favorite players. In his new CD, "Fingerstyle Classics", he proves once again he's one of the best.
Rick Allred and I have been friends for many years. I have built him many guitars. I am so proud to have Rick playing one of my guitars. It's a luthier's dream to have a virtuoso like Rick making your guitar sound its best.
These are the CD's I've done over the past few years.
I have selected some of my favorite songs and tunes for this CD. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed performing them.
After many requests from friends and fans over the last couple of years, I am proud to introduce this, my second CD. Hope you enjoy.
